CDS Irabor, calls for synergy among security agencies, to confront insecurity | ONN REPORTS
Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor says, synergy among the security agencies, is a critical factor to defeat the present security threats confronting the country.
Irabor was speaking in Jaji, when he declared open a three-week Exercise Haske Biyu, for the Senior Course 43, at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, AFCSC.
He said that, collective knowledge and understanding of the military operations, is key in tackling any form of insurgency.
The Chief of Defence Staff, represented by the Director, Peace Keeping Operations, Defence Headquarters, Major General Henry Ayamasowei said that, the exercise is coming at a time, when the country is faced with daunting security challenges.
The CDS added that, given the current national security realities, intelligence, security agencies and other stakeholders have found themselves deployed regularly, on internal security operations.
The Commandant of the College, Air Vice Marshall Ebenezer Alade, had explained that , the focus of the exercise is on the North-West, where banditry, cattle rustling and kidnapping have become the order of the day.
The theme of the exercise is, “A Joint and Multi-Agency Training on Internal Security and Low-Intensity Conflict.’’
